Sanda Hubana
Sanda Hubana, MA, is a Project Manager and Network Coordinator at EuroVienna. She studied European Ethnology with a focus on Urban and European Studies as well as Political Anthropology, and graduated in July 2012 from Humboldt University of Berlin. Following her studies, she worked in various urban development funding programs in Berlin, including serving as Social Space Manager at Leopoldplatz (Active Centers and Urban Renewal Area Wedding-Müllerstraße) and as District Manager in the Kreuzberg-Oranienstraße area as part of the Social Cohesion funding program. Driven by her strong interest in bridging academic research into practical solutions, she began a PhD project entitled “Conflict or Cooperation? Urban Planning and Civil Society in Berlin. An Ethnography”. In this research, she examined the cooperation dynamics between political, administrative as well as economical representatives, and civil society in three different urban development projects in Berlin (this included an infrastructure and investor driven project as well as refugee management). Subsequently, she worked as a Senior Manager and Expert in consulting firms in Germany and Austria, where she was extensively engaged in the planning, development, implementation, and/or research of innovative urban, sustainable, and European oriented policies and projects. These included, among others, the project “#connectedInEurope – Empowering Smart Cities: Approaches to European Networking,” commissioned by the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR), as well as “Step by Step to Sustainable Inclusion – Upgrade of the Roma Settlement in Kutina (Croatia),” implemented within the framework of the European Commission’s (DG REGIO) New European Bauhaus initiative – both at adelphi research gGmbH. At Urban Innovation Vienna GmbH, she was responsible for developing the Vienna Democracy Strategy on behalf of MA 20 – Energy Planning and supported the sustainable corporate transformation of Viennabase, a subsidiary company of Wien Holding. Since 2026, she has been serving as a Project Manager at EuroVienna, primarily focusing on funding consulting, project development, and network management. She combines strategic orientation and evidence-based project development across diverse thematic areas with extensive professional experience in European (network) contexts.
